What is Camp Cue?

Experience the wonders of sleep-away camp while receiving professional Musical Theatre training.

  • Camp Cue is a co-ed experience for campers 12-18 years of age who have a passion for musical theatre and want to experience an exciting 6-night sleep-away camp with other campers who share a common interest!

We welcome all levels of experience!

Those teens that are 18 and graduating must be 18 at the time of camp. Unfortunately, we cannot accept campers 19+.

  • Join us for 6 nights at our wonderful camp location. Over the course of the week, campers will swim, hike, make s’mores , kayaking and more! Daily classes will be held in voice, movement and acting as well as masterclasses in audition practices, other dance styles, monologue work, and more. Masterclasses with industry professionals including Q&As and industry talks. Campers will meet new friends, connect with the outdoors all while honing their skills in musical theatre.

Camp tuition includes room and board, all classes and workshops and outdoor activities.

  • Nestled on the beautiful Young Lake, Camp Cue is being held at Camp Barnard in Sooke, BC on Vancouver Island.

  • Beyond professional training, campers will get to experience the amazing outdoors through guided hikes, water activities, roasting marshmallows around a campfire, and more! This will be a true sleepaway camping experience paired with musical theatre…what could be better than that?

  • Each day, campers will have the opportunity to partake in technique classes in dance, voice and acting. They will be led by industry professionals and masters in their fields who have extensive and impressive careers in the performing arts industry.

A typical day might include a group warm-up, a dance class, a vocal class, acting and scene work classes. Workshops and masterclasses will vary from day to day but will include voice-over workshops, masterclasses in physical theatre, Q&As with professionals, industry talks and more. These classes are built to allow students to work at their own pace while continuing to develop their own skills and abilities. Our classes aim to inspire students to pursue the arts beyond our camp walls.

  • All campers will be housed in cabins built to accommodate 7 campers. There are washrooms and showers located near the main Dining Hall and cabins. Campers will be required to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow along with any personal toiletries.

There will be one Activity Leader assigned to each group.

  • Campers will enjoy 3 healthy meals a day including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A snack will also be provided each day, as well as water, juice, tea, and coffee, will be available throughout the day.

All meals will be catered by a certified professional catering company prepared in a commercial-grade kitchen and vegetarian/vegan/gluten-aware options will be available.

Food allergies and preferences will be accommodated.

  • Camp Cue is for every-body and every person regardless of race, gender, sexuality and physical ability. We believe in creating safe and open spaces where campers feel encouraged to be who they are free of discrimination or harassment.

Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. We believe in leading with love and kindness and we expect all our campers, activity leaders, teaching/guest artists, and staff to do the same.

  • Drugs and Alcohol are not permitted at our camp at any time. Our zero-tolerance policy means that if any of the above are found on-premise or in a campers possession, that camper will be transported back to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal at the expense of their guardian.

Unplugged and Present is our motto.
Cellphones will be permitted on site and may be used during the camp but we ask that campers try to disconnect from their screens and embrace nature and the environment they are in.

HAVE FUN! While of course, this isn’t a policy, we aim to make sure each and every camper is having the best week of their summer!
